New ergonomic insemination facilitator developed

Innovation is one of the strategic pillars of Hendrix Genetics. We are researching and implementing solutions to improve the results within the different parts of the animal protein chain. Animals are growing to heavier weights, due to processor demand and genetic progress. We focused on a solution to better facilitate the insemination process of these heavier turkeys.

Showcasing our newest invention

We invented a new ergonomic insemination facilitator. A practical tool that helps the turkey industry at large. We continuously look for ways we can improve processes, enhance animal welfare and ensure a safe working environment for employees. With this new invention we ensure better breeding today, for a brighter life tomorrow.

Ergonomic

Ergonomist Gwenaëlle Frappereau studied the movements of colleagues and handling of the turkeys extensively to find an optimal solution. She dived into the way turkeys are handled, placed, controlled and released during the insemination process. In total, 50 hours of video were observed. In all stages the studied movements led to improvements.

From start to finish everyone involved in this project has been very resourceful to deliver the best solution for human and animal welfare. It has been a real joy to work on innovating the ergonomic insemination facilitator.

Patented

The ergonomic insemination facilitator is a real innovation and is patented with the European Patent Organization. After a year of testing and modifications the final model was taken to production. Today, all French Hendrix Genetics farms have been equipped with the ergonomic insemination facilitators. Some contract growers have purchased the patented insemination facilitators as well and they will soon become available for the turkey industry at large.
