Turning Waste Into Worth
At Hendrix Genetics, sustainability isn’t just about what we create. It’s also about what we leave behind. That’s why we’ve taken a bold step forward in how we manage waste from hygiene and nutrition products across Institut de Sélection Animale (ISA) and Hendrix Genetics Turkeys France.
Until recently, only the 20-liter plastic drums used for these chemical-based products were recycled. All the other containers, of various sizes, were sent to general waste and destined for landfill. Today, this has changed.
From now on, every drum, regardless of size, will be recycled.
This shift isn’t just a technical update. It’s a meaningful leap in our environmental responsibility. By moving two levels up in the waste hierarchy – from disposal to recovery, and now to recycling – we’re cutting pollution and embracing circularity. Each recycled drum represents a conscious choice to reduce our footprint and rethink our habits, turning waste into a resource that aligns with our climate resilience goals.
This initiative also reflects our commitment to continuous improvement, ensuring our actions reflect the ambition behind our sustainability journey.
Let’s keep turning everyday decisions into sustainable progress!
Focus Area: Climate Resilience
Reducing our environmental footprint by integrating sustainable breeding, renewable energy, and circular practices into our operations.
These efforts help us build a more climate-resilient and resource-efficient future for animal breeding and food production.
