Turkey Vision gathers industry leaders in Toronto
Turkey Vision Toronto took place on May 16-18, 2017, gathering together leaders from North and South America to focus on the future of the industry.
The intention behind the conference this year was to invite a small group of key decision makers to engage on the topics that shape their strategic planning. To welcome the group, we kicked off the conference by enjoying a local baseball game complete with good food, refreshments, and the chance to catch up or make new connections.
The first day of the conference, attendees heard speakers from Hybrid Turkeys, Rabobank, and Animal Ag Alliance. Topics included the future of America’s supply chain, the global protein market, protection against consumer misinformation, and building consumer trust. Additionally, we invited four panelists from Hendrix Genetics, Monsanto, and the Center for Food Integrity to discuss gene editing in crop and animal breeding and communicating with consumers. Throughout the day, there was much discussion around the room about the outlook of the turkey market, including shared challenges and opportunities. The second day, a representative from Bridgeworks spoke on multi-generations working in the agriculture industry and communicating with the next generation of consumers.
After the scheduled content sessions, individuals had the chance to continue the conversation and hear each other’s perspectives. Attendees commented that they enjoyed connecting with other leaders and exchanging ideas about the future of the industry.
