Conseil Consultatif International

The International Advisory Board (IAB), installed in April 2007, with a minimum of 4 meetings per year, is responsible for advising the Executive Board of Hendrix Genetics B.V. on the Company’s activities, Strategic Plan, Research and Development, Human Resources, Management Development, HSEQ, External Affairs and other compliance issues, all in the broadest sense. Members (3): Richard van Wijnbergen (Chairman), Aalt Dijkhuizen (Member) and Michel Boucly (Member).

1. Michel Boucly (*1957) is Deputy CEO of Sofiprotéol and graduated from the Institut Agronomique de Paris Grignon and in Economics from the Paris Panthéon Sorbonne University. After an 18 months period with the agricultural attaché at the French embassy in Brussels, in 1981, Michel Boucly became involved in the development of biotechnologies and particularly in the vegetal genetics sector with several positions in Elf Bio Industries and Sanofi. After the sale of the vegetal genetics branch to the cooperative group Euralis in the context of the consolidation of this sector, he is appointed CEO of the seed division, active through 15 countries and with a strong market shares in corn and oilseed. At the end of 2003, Michel Boucly joined Sofiprotéol, shareholder from the start of the seed branch of Sanofi and then Euralis, as investment and business development director. Since, he’s supporting the rapid growth of the Group which invests as a minority or majority shareholder in companies linked to the oilseed and protein industry, in order to strengthen it and to comfort the added value to European agricultural productions. www.sofiproteol.com/en


2. Richard van Wijnbergen (*1940), Chairman of the Hendrix Genetics International Advisory Board (IAB), is born in Montfoort, the Netherlands, joined Hendrix’ in the Netherlands in 1968 as a marketing manager and was appointed as a Director of Hendrix Feed in 1977. He succeeded the Chief Executive Officer of Trouw International in 1981. In 1988 he was appointed Deputy Managing Director and in 1991 Chief Operating Officer of the worldwide BP Nutrition activities with responsibility for over 100 companies and 22.000 employees. Having led the management buy out, Richard was in 1994 the Founding Father of Nutreco Holding N.V. and he has served as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Executive Board since the formation of Nutreco. The company was introduced at the Amsterdam Stock Exchange June 1997. In August 2000 he left the company, having reached the retirement age. His present activities comprise of several Supervisory Board positions and Advisory functions. Richard attended Wageningen Agriculture University, the Netherlands and has qualifications in Economics, Marketing and International Business.

3. Aalt Dijkhuizen (*1953), succeeded in 2002 Cees Veerman as Chairman of the Executive Board of Wageningen University and Research Centre. Previously Aalt was Managing Director with Nutreco of the Business Group Agri Northern Europe (including Euribrid), Nutreco’s Corporate Director Food Safety and member of the Nutreco Management Committee. Aalt, son of a dairy farmer, studied at the Agricultural College in Dronten and afterwards at Wageningen University, where he graduated in 1977 cum laude in Agricultural Economics and Animal Science. He got his PhD-degree in 1983 at the Veterinary Faculty of Utrecht University on a thesis entitled: ‘Economic aspects of disease and disease control in dairy cattle’. In 1986 he went back to Wageningen where he was appointed professor of Animal Health Economics. Aalt has built up a broad international network and experience in the public and private sector. He worked with and stayed in more than 30 countries worldwide, among which a stay of almost one year in the US (1985) and half a year in Australia / New Zealand (1992). From 1992 to 1998 he has served as a scientific advisor to the European Commission on animal health and welfare. In his current position at Wageningen he has the final responsibility for an organization that employs around 6500 people and that includes three pillars; (1) Wageningen University, (2) specialized and more applied research institutes in the same domain, and (3) the Van Hall Larenstein Agricultural College.
